Hey, I've done that kind of stuff; one must just prepare himself to not be too disappointed when you don't get much for it. I agree, I expect the gains to be minimal. - Durability is an issue which you didn't touch upon, though. Look at it from my point of view: run an engine pretty hard at 6000-6500 rpm for thirty minutes. A lighter rod is easier on bearings and the crank, and appears to me to be a benefit.
